Automotodrom Brno in Ostrovačice, Czech Republic, is a permanent racing circuit steeped in motorsport heritage. The current layout was built in 1987, but racing at Brno traces back to 1930, when the original track incorporated public roads through local villages. The circuit has hosted major championships including MotoGP, the World Superbike Championship, and the FIA GT1 World Championship. MotoGP confirmed its return to the track from 2025 onwards, establishing the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic on the calendar. The circuit spans approximately 5.403 kilometres and winds through 14 corners set within a natural bowl in the surrounding hills, creating excellent sightlines for spectators throughout the venue. Six of the turns are left-hand and eight are right-hand, with the track featuring numerous uphill and downhill sections that challenge riders and reward viewing positions around the grounds. Banked area C and the Stadium zone
Banked area C is the most sought-after natural stand on the circuit, offering a spectacular vantage point over four corners in the Stadium sequence where overtaking frequently occurs. The area features up to four large screen displays and multiple refreshment stands. Directly opposite, Grandstand T1 in the Stadium zone also provides excellent views of all track sections and is equipped with a large screen at the front.
Grandstand T5 and the pit lane
For those interested in pit activity and strategy, Grandstand T5 is positioned directly opposite the pit boxes, allowing you to watch both the race and the behind-the-scenes action happening in the pits simultaneously.
Grandstand T2 and banked area D
Grandstand T2 sits in the start and finish area with views of the first turn, the pit lane, and a large screen. Banked area D descends alongside the track to Schwantz's corner and provides views of the last two Stadium turns and riders braking into this iconic corner, named after legendary American racer Kevin Schwantz.
General Admission tickets grant access to banked grass areas and the Fan Zone but not reserved seating; grandstand tickets provide reserved seat guarantees. Note that seating capacity was increased ahead of the 2026 event following high demand in 2025.
Getting to Automotodrom Brno
By car, use motorway exit 178 Ostrovačice or exit 182 Kývalka, then follow signposts for Autodrom, Grand Prix, or Paddock. The circuit's official address is Masarykův okruh 201, 664 81 Ostrovačice, Czech Republic. Parking for private coaches and buses is available near the main entrance.
During the MotoGP race weekend, two special free bus lines operate to reduce traffic and provide convenient access. Bus Line C runs between Nemocnice Bohunice transport hub and Automotodrom Brno, whilst Circular Bus Route Z connects the Autodrom with Popůvky and Žebětín.
The circuit is set in a natural bowl in the hills around Brno, which not only creates excellent spectator views but also means the landscape is relatively contained.
